Repair scratches, fading and blur
Open the photo in your album, tap Make something, and choose Restore old photo. Lumo repairs the damage and saves the restored version next to the original, so you can always compare them.
Add color to black-and-white photos
Choose Add color to give a black-and-white photo natural color. It’s a lovely way to see great-grandparents the way they might have looked that day.
Fix today’s photos, too

Honest about what AI does
Restoring and coloring use AI image models. They rebuild what was lost, which means some details are a careful guess rather than a record. That’s why Lumo never replaces your original: the restored version always sits beside it.
How to photograph an old print
- Lay it flat in daylightNear a window works best. Avoid lamps that cause glare.
- Fill the frameHold your phone straight above the print, so it fills the screen without tilting.
- Add it to your albumThen tap Make something and choose Restore old photo or Add color.

No. The restored version is saved alongside the original in your album.
