Graduation party

A QR code for every photo from the graduation party.

For a graduation party photo QR code, make one private event album in Lumo and print its QR code on a sign for the tables. Guests scan it and add the photos and videos they took, in the free app or in their browser, in full quality. Everything lands in one album, in the order it was taken, and the album is kept for the graduate and the family.

Lumo is a free, private family album for iPhone, iPad and Android. Send one link and the whole family can join.

One code instead of a hundred messages

At a graduation party, family, friends and neighbours all take photos: the graduate in the cap, the family photo, the speech, the cake. Afterwards, those photos are scattered across dozens of phones. A QR code on every table lets each guest add theirs to one album while the party is still going.

The graduate doesn’t have to chase anyone, and nobody has to send photos one by one.

Set it up before the party

  • Make the event a week or two before, and share its link with the invitation or in the family chat.
  • Print the QR code sign and put one on every table, a bigger one at the entrance and one by the photo spot.
  • Scan the printed sign with two different phones before the day.
  • Ask once, during the toast, while everyone is together.

A free graduation QR code sign

Download the free graduation party sign (PDF), with A5, A6, 5×7 in and 4×6 in pages. In Lumo, make an event, for example “Ana’s graduation party”, tap Show a QR code and place the code in the frame on the sign.

Guests point their phone camera at it and join, in the free app or by choosing “Continue in your browser”. One code works for up to 500 people, and you can turn on “Only admins can let people in” to accept each guest yourself. Nothing is public.

After the party

The event album stays, so guests who leave early can add their photos later, and relatives who couldn’t come can see the day. Photos are kept in full quality, and videos whole, up to 3 GB each. Anyone in the album can save the photos they want.

The event sits next to your own family album, kept separate, so the party photos don’t mix with everyday ones.

How many guests can join?

Each link or QR code works for up to 500 people. Make another if you need more.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no fee per event and no limit on photos. Videos are kept whole, up to 3 GB each.

Does the QR code expire?

Invite links and their QR codes stop working after 30 days, so make the code within a month of the party. The album itself stays, and you can make a new code at any time.

How are the photos kept safe?

Photos are encrypted in transit and at rest, and only people in the album can open them. Invite links stop working after 30 days, and you can turn a link off or remove someone at any time. There are no ads, and we don’t sell your data.
