Sharing videos
Share the whole video, not the first two minutes.
The recital, the birthday song, Grandpa’s speech: family videos run long. Lumo keeps every video whole, up to 3 GB, in one private album the whole family can watch.
Free on iPhone, iPad and Android. Private to your family.

Where long videos get cut
Most ways of sharing family videos have a limit somewhere. These are each app’s own published limits, checked in October 2026:
- FamilyAlbum: under 2 minutes on the free plan, up to 10 minutes with a family plan
- Tinybeans: up to 5 minutes with Tinybeans+
- iCloud Shared Albums: up to 15 minutes at 720p in albums made before iOS 27; newer albums keep the whole video but use the owner’s iCloud storage
- WhatsApp: compressed in a chat unless sent as a document, up to 2 GB
- Google Photos: long videos are fine, but every video counts toward your storage
What Lumo does with a long video
Lumo uploads the whole video, up to 3 GB, and keeps the original file exactly as it was shot. Nothing is trimmed.
On the free plan, everyone in the family can watch the first minute. Lumo Pass, one subscription for the whole family, plays every video in full and lets you download the originals.
Made so grandparents can watch
There are no links that expire and no files to download first. The video sits in the album next to the photos from the same day, in order, with hearts and comments under it, on iPhone, iPad and Android.

Questions
Is there a size limit?
Each video can be up to 3 GB: about 20 minutes of 4K video from a recent phone, and longer at lower resolutions.
Do I need Lumo Pass to share long videos?
No. The whole video is uploaded and kept on the free plan, and the family can watch the first minute. Lumo Pass plays the full length and lets you save the original.
How do grandparents join?
Send them a private invite link and they tap it, or give them your 4-digit family code. A code only asks to join; someone in the family lets them in.
Who can see our photos?
Only the people in your family album. Nothing is public, there are no followers, and photos are never shown to anyone outside your family.
Is Lumo really free?
Yes. The album, unlimited photos and videos, inviting family, hearts and comments are all free. Lumo Pass is optional, for unlimited magic, full-length videos and saving originals. Unlimited means unlimited for everyday family use, under fair use.
