Christmas photos
Everyone’s Christmas photos, in one family album.
To collect everyone’s Christmas photos, make one private album and share its link in the family group chat, or put its QR code by the tree. Each person adds the photos and videos they took from their own phone, in full quality, and they line up in the order they were taken. Relatives don’t need the app: they can join in their browser at app.lumomagic.com.
Lumo is a free, private family album for iPhone, iPad and Android. Send one link and the whole family can join.

Every phone has different photos
Over Christmas everyone takes photos: Christmas Eve, the presents in the morning, the whole family around the table, the walk after lunch. Afterwards, each person’s photos stay on their own phone. A few get sent in the family chat, smaller than they were taken, and scroll away between the messages; most are never sent at all.
One album for the day brings them together, so everyone sees the photos the others took.
Set it up before the day
- Make the event a few days before, and share its link in the family group chat so people can join on the way.
- On the day, put the QR code by the tree or on the table, for anyone who missed the link.
- Ask once, while everyone is still together, not in January.
- Nobody has to sort anything: photos line up in the order they were taken.
A QR code by the tree
In Lumo, make an event, for example “Christmas at Grandma’s”, and share its link or show its QR code. Aunts, uncles and cousins scan it and add photos and videos from their own phones, in the free app or straight in their browser, on iPhone or Android. Grandparents can watch the album fill up on a tablet.
Turn on “Only admins can let people in”, and every request to join comes to you to accept. One code works for up to 500 people, and nothing is public.
Event albums in Lumo
After Christmas, and at New Year
The event stays, so relatives who get home late can still add their photos, and photos are kept in full quality, with videos whole, up to 3 GB each. It sits next to your own family album, kept separate, so the Christmas photos don’t mix with everyday ones.
The same works for New Year’s Eve, a birthday dinner, or any time the whole family gets together: make a new event and share the link in the same chat.

Questions
Do older relatives need to install an app?
No. They can open the link in their browser at app.lumomagic.com and sign in with Apple, Google or email. The free app works too, on iPhone, iPad and Android.
Can we keep using our family group chat?
Yes. Keep chatting there and share the event’s link in the group once. Any photo in Lumo can be saved and sent in a chat like any other photo.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no fee per event and no limit on photos. Videos are kept whole, up to 3 GB each.
How does Lumo keep our photos safe?
Photos are encrypted in transit and at rest, and only signed-in members of your family album can open them. Invite links stop working after 30 days, a family code only asks to join, and you can turn the code off or remove someone at any time. There are no ads, and we don’t sell your data.
