Engagement party
Every photo from your engagement party, in one private album.
Make one private event album in Lumo before the party, share its link in the invitation and stand its QR code on the tables. Each guest adds the photos and videos they took, in full quality, in the Lumo app or in their browser at app.lumomagic.com. Both families and your friends see everything in one place, and the album stays after the party.

Why the party photos never reach you
At your engagement party, you two are the ones in the photos, not the ones taking them. Your friends catch the toast, the ring going round the table and both sets of parents meeting each other’s friends, each on their own phone. A few photos arrive in a group chat, smaller than they were taken. Most never arrive at all.
One album for the party, set up before it starts, puts every guest’s photos and videos in the same place, in full quality.
Make the album before the party
- In Lumo, open the Family tab, tap your family name at the top, then New event. Choose “Something else”, call it “Our engagement party” and tap Create event.
- Turn on “Only admins can let people in” if you’d like to let in each guest yourselves.
- Copy the album’s link into the invitation, so guests can join before they arrive.
- Mention the album once, in the toast. That’s enough.
A sign for the tables
Download the engagement party sign (PDF), with watercolor peonies, two raised glasses and “We’re engaged!” at the top. It has A5, A6, 5×7 in and 4×6 in pages. In Lumo, tap Show a QR code, place the code in the frame and print.
Stand a small sign on each table and a bigger one by the drinks or the cake. Before the day, scan the printed sign with two different phones.

Both families, one album
An engagement party is often the first time both families and both sets of friends are in one room. When guests join, Lumo asks them “How do you know the couple?”, and their answer is shown to everyone in the album, so a college friend and a future aunt can tell who is who.
Guests open the link or point their phone camera at the code, sign in with Apple, Google or email, and add photos in the Lumo app or in their browser at app.lumomagic.com. One code works for up to 500 people. Only people in the album can see the photos; nothing goes on a public page.
From the party to the wedding
The engagement album stays, with every photo in full quality and every video whole, up to 3 GB each. When the wedding comes, make a wedding album with its own QR code. It sits next to this one, and guests who come to both can be in both.

Questions
Do guests need to install the app?
No. They can open the link or scan the code, choose “Continue in your browser” and add photos at app.lumomagic.com, signed in with Apple, Google or email. The Lumo app works too, on iPhone, iPad and Android.
Can guests see each other’s photos?
Yes. Everyone in the event album sees what’s added, including guests who don’t know each other yet. Nobody outside the album can see it.
Does the QR code expire?
Yes, after a year, like every link for an event album, so you can make it as soon as you set the date. The album itself stays, and you can make a new code at any time.
Can we use the same album for the wedding?
You can, but a wedding album of its own keeps the two days apart and gives the wedding its own QR code. Both sit side by side in Lumo.
How are the photos kept safe?
Photos are encrypted in transit and at rest, and only people in the album can open them. Invite links and QR codes work for a year, and you can turn a link off or remove someone at any time. There are no ads, and we don’t sell your data.
