Group photos
How to collect everyone’s photos, without chasing anyone.
Twenty people took photos and you’d like all of them. Asking in a chat gets you a few, shrunk. Here is a way that gets most of them: one link or QR code, and everyone adds their own.
Free on iPhone, iPad and Android. Private to your family.

What makes people actually share
- Ask while everyone is still together, not a week later.
- One link or QR code, the same for everyone.
- Nothing to install, and it works on iPhone and Android.
- Full quality, so nobody has to send things twice.
The usual ways, and their limits
- Group chats shrink photos and bury them in messages.
- iCloud shared albums made on iOS 27 use the owner’s iCloud storage; older ones hold 5,000 items at reduced size.
- Google Photos shared albums need a Google Account to add photos.
- Cloud folders work, but people have to sort and upload files themselves.
An event album with a QR code
In Lumo, make an event and show its QR code, or send its link in the group chat. People scan it and add their photos and videos from their own phone, in the free app or straight in their browser. Everything appears in one album, in the order it was taken.
One code works for up to 500 people, and you can choose to approve each person who joins. Photos stay in full quality, and the event album doesn’t expire.

No. People can scan the code and choose “Continue in your browser” to add photos at app.lumomagic.com, signed in with Apple, Google or email.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no fee per event and no limit on photos. Videos are kept whole, up to 3 GB each.
Can people outside the group see the photos?
No. Only people who joined the event can see what’s in it.
How does Lumo keep our photos safe?
Photos are encrypted in transit and at rest, and only signed-in members of your family album can open them. Invite links stop working after 30 days, a family code only asks to join, and you can turn the code off or remove someone at any time. There are no ads, and we don’t sell your data.
